2 Ingredient Oreo Mug Cake
My daughter told me about this 2 ingredient Oreo mug cake, after seeing one online somewhere. I was sceptical. How could just cookies and milk make a cake?
But I assure you that it does. A cake of sorts, anyway. The texture is more like a pudding than a cake, but it hits the spot when you need a chocolate, cake or dessert hit. All three, really. Or a warm hug in a mug, maybe.
The secret to the best Oreo mug cake recipe with 2 ingredients really lies in creating fairly fine Oreo crumbs. You could do this in a food processor, to save time. We started off crushing them with our fingers, but after getting bored of that, Missy likes to put them into a food bag and bash them. So she does.
Then you just add the milk, give it all a good stir and pop it in the microwave. We’ve found a minute-and-a-half to be just right.
Trial and error taught us that there’s a very easy formula you can follow here. You want one tablespoon of milk per Oreo. So you can make more, or less, cake as you like. Or perhaps to suit how many Oreos you have left in the packet!
When you want a warm, chocolatey hit in a hurry, this really hits the spot. To make more of a dessert out of this 2 ingredient Oreo cake microwave recipe, simply top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That will make it look much prettier, too.

How to Make 2 Ingredient Oreo Mug Cake
- This simple Oreo mug cake recipe begins with the preparation. You’ll need to crush four Oreos into crumbs, before adding milk and stirring, then microwaving the mixture to create a cake.
- Blitzing the biscuits into crumbs in a food processor is the easiest way. Alternatively, put them into a plastic food bag, let out the air, seal it, and then bash the bag with the end of a rolling pin (or something else suitable) to create crumbs.
- Tip the Oreo crumbs into a microwavable mug, then add 1 tablespoon of milk per cookie (or 4 Oreos plus 4 tablespoons). Stir well.
- Put the mug into the microwave, and cook on high for 90 seconds (a minute-and-a-half).
- Serve this Oreo and milk dessert as it is for a new take on Oreo cookies and milk. Or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, to make a simple yet delicious pudding.
- Allow the cake to cool, for at least a couple of minutes, before tucking in.
Serve your Oreo cup cake warm, with or without vanilla ice cream.
