KitKat Cake | No Bake
Want to make a chocolate KitKat cake? No bake slices like this might not strictly come under the category of cake. They are not baked, agreed – but they are delicious. This fridge cake recipe for a KitKat tiffin is so quick and simple to make, and involves zero baking.
I adore KitKats. Finger or chunky versions, I’m not fussy, though I have a fantasy about welding together four Chunky KitKats to make a huge four finger one… Two finger ones are OK, but not really big enough. So pass me two of those chocolate biscuits, please.
Anyway, I think the pink wafers add a pretty touch to this KitKat chocolate cake. It pleases – and appeases – the little girls in our lives. The frosting of glittery sugar strands on top echo that sentiment too. The quickest birthday cake ever, perchance?
Makes 12-24 pieces, depending on size
KitKat cake recipe ingredients
- Milk chocolate, 400g
- Pink wafer biscuits, 1 pack (about 200g), in small pieces
- KitKats, 4 x 4 finger or 8 x 2 finger, in small pieces
- Sprinkles, to decorate
Equipment
- Chopping board
- Sharp knife
- Rectangular or square dish
- Baking paper
- Mixing bowl
- Tablespoon (for stirring & spooning)
How to make KitKat cake
- Line a suitable square or rectangular dish with a sheet of greaseproof baking parchment.
- Melt the milk chocolate. I do this in the microwave in short bursts, stirring often, & it always works fine. I start with a 30 second burst, then 20, then 10 – if needed. Stir well between each time, and once it is almost melted remove from the microwave and let the residual heat do the rest.
- Stir the wafer and KitKat pieces into the melted chocolate and mix well.
- Decorate with sprinkles – I chose glitter strands to match the pink wafers and the long shape of the wafer and Kit Kats.
- If possible, remove the Kit Kat slice from the fridge for a while to soften s little before cutting. (How long for depends on whether it’s closer to July, November or January.) Using a knife warmed in a jug of hot water gets the best results. Slice into bars or squares, then chill again until ready to eat.
This easy, no bake KitKat cake is great served as a dessert or treat.
