Microwave S’mores Recipe
If you want to know how to make s’mores in the microwave, then I’ve got great news for you! This microwave s’smores recipe is literally ready in seconds – and all you need is two ingredients. (Though if you don’t live in the UK, like me, you may need three.)
This isn’t my own recipe. It was passed onto me by my partner and his daughter, who’ve been making s’mores in the microwave in this way for ages. Who needs a campfire? If you’re wondering how to microwave s’mores, read on for all you need to know. And let’s honest – there’s not a lot to it at all!
Though large marshmallows are specified, it’s easy to substitute small ones if that’s what you have. It really doesn’t matter, and you’ll soon get the hang of how many to use when you make s’mores at home.
If you live in the US, or someplace else where you can’t buy chocolate digestive biscuits, then you might need to use graham crackers plus some chocolate instead. In that case, chocolate chips or buttons are good, as they’ll melt quickly.
So the answer to can you make s’mores in the microwave is a resounding yes! My own daughter adores microwaved s’mores just as much as the next 9 or 10 year old. Digestive biscuits (or graham crackers), plus marshmallow and chocolate – what’s not to love?

Microwave S’mores Ingredients
Per s’more:
- Chocolate digestives, 2
- Marshmallow (standard size), 1
How to Make S’mores in the Microwave
- Lie one digestive biscuit on a plate, with the chocolate-coated side facing upwards.
- Top the biscuit with 1 large marshmallow (or several mini ones)
- Add the second biscuit, this time with the chocolate side facing down.
- Microwave the biscuit, chocolate and marshmallow sandwich for around 7 seconds. As this varies according to your machine as well as your preference, try 5 seconds the first time. You can always try a few more seconds if you need to.
- Eat immediately, taking care not to burn your mouth on that hot, oozing marshmallow centre!
