Pork Mince Bolognese
I’m always looking for ways to add twists to our family favourites. While it’s difficult to improve on the classic spag bol – and I also love to make a lentil ragu – this variation, made as a pork mince bolognese recipe, really does equal the beef version.
This pork mince ragu for pasta contains only ground pork. Unlike some pork and beef bolognese recipes. I might not have made this pork mince spaghetti at all, if I hadn’t spotted a cut-price pack of meat that needed using (or freezing) within a day’s time. I do love a supermarket bargain, don’t you?
I use passata rather than chopped tomatoes in this pork mince recipe, but they are interchangeable. I just find that the passata plus tomato paste makes for a thick, rich and satisfying pasta sauce. Soy and Worcester sauces add depth without the need for stock.
Like my turkey chilli, this pork mince recipe for pasta sauce is a simple twist on one of the most popular dishes in Britain. It’s just what easy, delicious and affordable family meals are all about. Does comfort food get any better than pasta served with a meat sauce and some cheese?
