Simple Creamy Mushroom Pasta Recipe
If, like me, you’re always busy, having the house to yourself for the afternoon can be a real treat. And provides me with a chance to cook something no one else likes for lunch. Whic is precisely how this simple creamy mushroom pasta recipe came about.
So easy. I used quick-cook penne to make my simple mushroom pasta sauce for one and the sauce was done by the time the pasta was cooked. If you want to make it for two, four or more, just multiply the ingredients by the number of people.
This mushroom pasta recipe is easy, containing just a knob of butter, soft and hard cheeses – and of course mushrooms. You could use button mushrooms, but field mushrooms give far more depth of flavour.
Still, any port in a storm and all that. Any mushrooms are better than none, in my book: alas, Mister and Missy disagree. Which meant I didn’t have to share my easy mushroom pasta sauce with anyone that day. Ha.

Simple creamy mushroom pasta recipe ingredients
- Butter, a knob
- Flat mushroom, 1, cut into chunks
- Soft cheese, 50g
- Italian hard cheese, 25g
- Pasta, to serve
- Salt & pepper, to serve

How to make this easy mushroom pasta recipe
- Set the pasta on to cook as per pack instructions.
- Melt a knob of butter in a saucepan or large frying pan, then add the chunks of mushroom. Cook, stirring, until darkened and releasing its juices.
- Add the soft cheese and stir well to combine, then do the same with the hard cheese.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain and mix with the sauce.
- Add a grinding of black pepper – and perhaps salt – and tuck in!
