Double Decker Rocky Road
This Double Decker rocky road pays homage to one of our favourite chocolate bars. Both my daughter and I love a Double Decker, and I hadn’t yet made a no bake slice with those in it. Clearly a glaring omission that had to be rectified immediately!
This recipe for rocky road with Double Decker contains only five ingredients – and that includes the sprinkles! It really is easy to make – just make sure you get prepped before melting the chocolate, as it happens fast once you get to that stage. I melt mine in the microwave, checking every 20 seconds or so, then every 10 as it starts to soften. Give it a stir each time too.
Rich Tea biscuits were chosen to add crunch without masking the subtle Double Decker flavour. Rice Krispies also reflect the composition of the bottom later of the bar. You can use any sprinkles you like – I used white chocolate drops here as I had some handy, and the kids I was catering for love them.
This isn’t a bad way to spin out one multipack of Double Deckers, as basic milk chocolate, non-branded Rich Tea biscuits and supermarket label rice pops are cheap as chips! It’s also more impressive as you made it yourself. Not that it takes too much effort at all.

How to make Double Decker Tiffin
- Get all the ingredients ready. Line the ceramic dish (a square or rectangular, lasagne-style dish is best) with baking paper.
- Blitz the biscuits in a food processor until some are fine crumbs and some are larger pieces.
- Slice up the Double Decker bars and measure out the Rice Krispies.
- Break the chocolate into squares and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt by heating for 20 seconds at a time on high, then stirring each time, until it starts to soften. Then use 10 second bursts until it’s melted enough to stir into a smooth consistency.
- Working quickly, add the crushed biscuits, sliced Double Deckers and rice pops to the chocolate and stir well to combine.
- Spoon the mixture into the lined baking dish and press down. Add sprinkles of your choice, then chill for at least an hour to set.
- Remove the Double Decker rocky road from the fridge at least half an hour before cutting. It’s more realistic to expect shards rather than regular slices.
Serve this Double Decker fridge cake as it is with coffee, after dinner or as a sweet snack any time.
